II Column Privacy Policy

II Column is a local vocabulary notebook. It does not require an account, and AI assistance is optional.

Information stored on your device

Your notebooks, language choices, entries, review status, settings, and AI preference are stored locally on your device. Removing the app, clearing its storage, or losing the device may remove this information.

Optional AI assistance

If you enable AI assistance, the entry you are currently editing and its source and destination language metadata are sent securely to II Column's server for translation and correction suggestions. Whole notebooks and unrelated entries are not sent. If AI is disabled, your entries are not sent to the AI service.

The service also receives standard network information needed to operate and protect the endpoint, including an IP address and a randomly generated, non-secret installation identifier used for rate limiting. II Column does not use this identifier for advertising or cross-app tracking.

No account or cloud sync

II Column does not currently offer user accounts or automatic cloud synchronization. Your notebook data is not uploaded to an II Column account.

Backups and exports

You can export a portable backup from Settings and choose where to save or share it using your device's share sheet. II Column does not control third-party services you choose for exported files. Importing a backup happens on your device after the file is validated.

Data retention and control

Local notebook data remains on your device until you edit it, delete it, clear app storage, or remove the app. You can disable AI assistance at any time in Settings.

To reduce duplicate AI requests, the app and II Column's server may temporarily cache AI results in process memory for up to five minutes. These caches are not durable and are removed when they expire, are evicted, or the relevant process restarts.

AI requests are processed through Replit's AI integration and may be handled by upstream AI service providers. Their logging and retention practices are governed by their own applicable policies and may differ from II Column's five-minute in-memory cache. II Column does not promise that upstream providers use the same retention period. Server and infrastructure security logs may be retained as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service.

Children and tracking

II Column does not use advertising trackers and does not sell personal information. The app is not designed to collect profile information from children.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when II Column's features or service providers change. The effective date above will be updated when material changes are made.
